Arrival:

Parents will be responsible for dropping their child(ren) off for camp each day.  Classes are scheduled to begin promptly at 8:10.   Beginning at 7:55am parents can pull up and drop campers from the middle school bus loop located between the elementary and middle schools.  This is the same process used to unload kids for the start of the regular school day.  We will have parent volunteers outside to help with the unload process as well as volunteers inside to help direct kids to the correct space for their class.  If you arrive after 8:15 you will need to park and walk your child into school using the main entrance.

Inclement Weather:

With classes in January and February there is always a risk of snow days and delays. In the event of school cancellations for any reason, Caboose Camp will also be cancelled.  In the event of a 2-hour delay for any reason,  we will NOT have Caboose Camp for that day.  2-hour delays are generally designed to give roads time to improve and we don’t want families on the road sooner than necessary.  Make-up days for Caboose Camp are February 25thand 27st.  There will only be one week of make-ups regardless of the number of classes cancelled.

Conduct Expectations

Rules of conduct that apply during the regular school day also apply during Caboose Camp classes.

The environment during classes will be one that promotes listening, learning and having fun in a controlled manner. When every participant demonstrates a respectful and considerate demeanor toward their fellow students and their teachers, everyone will benefit and all will be able to enjoy the class. If a student is not able to conduct themselves by these standards, he or she will be sent home with a behavior sheet that must be signed and returned before the child attends the next class. If a child receives a second warning sheet, the student will not be allowed to attend the remainder of the session.

*Please note that this is not a program run by Robious Elementary or Chesterfield County Schools.  This is an optional enrichment program sponsored by the RES PTA.  There will not be a nurse or clinic attendant on-site before school hours.  There will be school staff that have access to the clinic. The PTA may reach out to families before the start of camp to discuss arrangements or accommodations based on individual needs.

* Children are responsible to dress appropriately for outdoor activities. If it is below freezing, outdoor classes will be brought inside. If a child does not have weather appropriate outdoor clothing, they will have to sit out for the day’s activities. There are no refunds for misconduct.
