Caboose Camp is an enrichment program sponsored by RES PTA. It is designed to expose Robious Elementary School’s students to a variety of fun and educational experiences through classes that occur outside of regular school hours. Caboose Camp classes are taught by community instructors, county teachers and Robious parents.

Caboose Camp is making a BIG move to BEFORE school instead of after.  There are several reasons for this change.  First and foremost is that we know evenings are short and sometimes stressful with homework.  Most of our kids are up bright and early so why not use that to our advantage.  Having Caboose Camp in the morning also eliminates the concerns over kids getting on the bus on days they are supposed to be at camp and vice versa- this was a bigger problem than you think!  Finally, having kids go straight to their regular class at the end of camp elimates the need for dozens of volunteers to sign kids out at the end of the night.  No crazy parking lots full of parents running in to pick-up kids -just an orderly drop off in the morning and a smaller group of volunteers to direct kids to the correct room.

This year, parents will be responsible for dropping kids off in time for class to start at 8:10am.  Beginning at 7:55am parents can pull up and drop campers from the middle school bus loop located between the elementary and middle schools.  This is the same process used to unload kids for the start of the regular school day.  We will have parent volunteers outside to help with the unload process as well as volunteers inside to help direct kids to the correct space for their class.  If you arrive after 8:15 you will need to park and walk your child into school using the main entrance.

The 2019 classes will be offered Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:10-9:10am for six weeks from January 8th- February 14th, 2019.  The make-up days for weather will be February 19th and 21st.  In the event of a 2-hour delay, classes will be cancelled and the make-up days will be used.  There will only be one week of make-up classes regardless of the number of canceled classes.
